Chief Executive Officer Message

Coleen ZakoorAs a branch of a provincial and national organization we continue to build the CMHA into a strongly interconnected organization that speaks with a unified voice—a voice that gets stronger each day with our team of volunteers, consumers, staff, partners and supporters.

York Region faces many challenges in the delivery of mental health service including an expediting population, which is adding more stress on an already strained mental health system. The good news is there is hope. CMHA staff are continually evaluating and adjusting services to ensure we are meeting the needs of our community. Our unified voice is finding ways to shorten our waiting lists, examining and re-examining our priorities, finding ways to partner with other organizations to provide a broader range of complimentary services. All of the work CMHA and our community partners do is for you—the consumer, the friend and the caregiver.

CMHA will continue to strive to be a leader in mental health direct services and education by listening to the challenges you face in your communities and finding ways we can work together to further our mission and vision. I welcome you to visit our offices to see what we are all about. We would love to give you a tour of our facility and answer your questions.

Call us if you need services, attend our events, become a member or volunteer. We are stronger with your support. We offer better services with your input. And together we can make mental health matter! Stronger. Services. Together.

Sincerely,
